Merced River Trails Yosemite National Park

It's hard to beat Yosemite for Outlaw Trails. Here on the Merced River Park Officials prefer cyclists to use the busy and dangerous paved road just a few yards from here. I'm told that in 2005 rangers in the kiosk at the gate tell you that you cannot bring your mountain bike into the park! What are you supposed to do? I guess you should just go home and get your motorhome and then you will be welcome.
Kim got her rent-a-bike off the trail so the team could get by her. The team consists of a horse and rider in the front, a horse and rider in the rear ( this one playing a harmonica for the full effect ) and several jackasses in the middle.
There are dozens of dirt trails along the Merced River in the Yosemite Valley. There are spectacular views of the river and surrounding granite mountains along the way. None of the trails have bicycle access. It's a good thing that Kim had just walked her bike down here!
The Merced River is loaded with German Brown trout. There are a few Rainbow trout in there too. The park wants the intruder German Brown trout out. You may take 5 German Brown trout out a day. No Rainbow trout are to be taken. I wonder if the Rainbows are native.

Kim was on a paved trail, it is off limits to bikes ( good thing she WAS NOT riding her bike). These kids were not following the direct orders. I bet the water in the Merced River felt good to the three jumpers.

There are a few legal trails in Yosemite. They are located close to the main roads that go up and down the main valley.
