Share the ride with Cannondale's Road Tandem 2. This two-seater is ideal for companionship on the road, setting a blistering pace on group rides, and general road-riding fun! It uses oversize aluminum tubing that's extremely lightweight yet laterally stiff. Leading the way is Cannondale's Fatty R fork that handles the corners with precision. The 30-speed drivetrain sports a wide gear range perfect for steep ascents, and Shimano 105 shifters and derailleurs for flawless shifting. Other great specs include a DT Swiss wheelset, lightweight Cannondale components, Shimano mechanical disc brakes, and grippy Continental tires.

I often ride with the visually impaired who find the geometry easy to adjust to suit individual riders with good access to the drink bottles while riding. I found the steering very light at first but I adjusted to its sensitivity quickly. Very easy to change direction. Brakes well with good acceleration.
The experts at Old Town Bicycles in Tacoma did a terrific job in measuring and setting up the bike for us. We had to swap out a stem and wider bars (at no charge) to make the bike perfect. The pictures make the tubes on the bike all appear to be round. On closer inspection you will see that every tube on the bike is formed and varies from one end to the other. This gives the bike a comfortable ride while being very stiff laterally. Standing up is no problem. Lots of room for the stoker is also appreciated. Seats were pretty good for an off the shelf bike, but we swapped out our tried and true Specialized seats. I was concerned about the disk brakes, but after riding a bit am completely sold on them. Modulation is great and they really stop. When taking off the front wheel to put the bike on the roof of the car the wheel just falls out without fiddling with the brakes. Small thing but nice. White Industries hubs are strong and beautiful and with the sun rims and stock Ultra Gators make a very strong safe wheelset. The Ultegra shifts like, well, Ultegra--never misses a shift either up or down. High speed decents? No problem! The bike is as light or lighter than anything outside of Calfees or Paketas and costs far less.
My wife and I love our new Tandem 2. It is fast and handles well. The componet group is great and the disc brakes will really stop the bike on a dime. Best value on the market for a fast road tandem!
